Some things just make sense. Case in point: SlingPlayer coming to Android as a whole, and the EVO 4G more specifically. The 4.3-inch screen and kickstand meant to prop-up the EVO 4G at a comfortable viewing angle make it the perfect receiver of Sling, which remotely broadcasts television programming to mobile devices.
Sling is currently in private beta for Android and will be coming soon based on the company’s willingness to show off the app in a YouTube demo. Below you’ll find a short clip detailing how Sling performs on an EVO. The Sling employee in the video subscribes to Dish and is able to access all of the video he could have were he at home. DVR programs, live television, and program guides are all available…in the phone.
There’s no word on when Sling will be available to Android users, but this will be huge when it finally debuts.
