Oh yeah, the LG Ally was available yesterday! How could we forget that with the announcement of all things Google and the imminent superphone launch of the HTC Evo 4G? Well, it looks like we forgot about the Ally just as much as Verizon did.
It appears that the LG Ally has been delayed for Verizon Wireless for “reasons unknown”. In a statement yesterday from Verizon, the Ally will apparently be available at the end of next week as pre-orders will be filled “on or after May 27th”. Verizon also lets us know that they are of course willing to take your money for Ally pre-orders up until the new release date.
Like was said before, there is no real evidence that anything is defective with the LG Ally. There is some rumors floating around via Phandroid that Verizon display units happened to be defective, but there is still nothing concrete. Maybe it’s the custom LG Weather widget that comes pre-installed? Nothing like a another weather widget for the sake of a weather widget. Maybe they could have used the native widgets that come with 2.1?
Anyways, if you are dying for the LG Ally, it looks like you are going to have to wait at least one more week to get your hands on that lackluster device.
