CardStar stores reward cards in Android phones, scans barcodes in-store [Videos]

CardStar has released an Android version of its popular card-storing application. Now available in the Android Market, CardStar has arrived to save people from the annoyance of carrying gym memberships, store reward cards, and other scannable membership cards in your wallet or key ring.

Rather than deal with membership cards clogging up your pockets, CardStar saves a barcode containing your membership number and information. Users need only to go to a store, open the membership card while waiting in line, and then have a clerk scan the barcode displayed on screen. Key rings and wallets across the country just shed some bulk.

Here’s a video showing how easy it is to add membership cards and then use them in store. I was unable to test if CardStar works on flatbed scanners because I don’t have any reward cards that use it.
