Android Phones, HTC, Verizon
We have been saying that this year is going to be an exciting time for new Android devices. The HTC Incredible is said to be announced today and there really isn’t too much we don’t know about it.
The HTC indredible is housing a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 operating system with Sense UI, 576MB RAM/512 MB ROM, an 8MP camera with flash and autofocus, and a 3.7″ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a 480×800 resolution. The phone is stacked and is basically a HTC Desire with a better camera and FM tuner. Check out the full specs here.
The Incredible will run on Verizon’s network and will host a 1xRTT, EVDO Rev. A. radio. No 4G support mentioned in any of the documents we have seen. Also, At the beginning of the month we reported that 150,000 Incredibles are headed towards a Verizon warehouse and will be expected to be available before the end of the month as well as Verizon telling their employees to get ready.
There has been a leaked version of the Incredible’s user manual which can be found at Phandroid here.
So, knowing all of the details about the Incredible will you wait for the EVO on Sprint or the Samsung Galaxy S with it’s super graphics chip? Or are you going to take the plunge on the newest Android superphone handset Verizon has to offer? Let us know!

I'm tired of waiting for the nexus one. I prefer the N1 but at this point I'd buy the incredible if it came out first.
I am so in the same boat! Don't forget though. Verizon has a 30-day return policy. So if the N1 does actually come out within 30-days of buying it you can return it and still get the N1.
wrong, you have to order the N1 from google, doesn't matter what verizon's return policies are.
If the N1 was available for verizon starting today I might not even get it now that I know this is coming.
My recent post Are you ready for the no-bun sandwich of awesome?
Beware that Verizon does offer a 30 day return policy, but they will charge you a $35.00 restocking fee. So make sure its the phone you really want to purchase.

This phone may cannibalize N1 due to simply having HTC Sense in it and the full "Google Experience". Plus 8GB internal, 8MP cam. Why bother with an N1 if you're a VZW customer now?
Actually the leaked impression posted before was actually incredible. Opinions.http://j.mp/htc-incredible-impressions
Couldn't have said it better myself!
It's not being announced today. The Microsoft Pink phones are.
For me the somewhat lackluster Sprint network in my area combined with the specs of the EVO and unbeatable monthly contract pricing overpowers Verizon's amazing service, the Incredible's specs, and Verizon's notoriously expensive plans. I'm in it to have unlimited data at a good price, and you really just can't have that with Verizon right now in my opinion. This summer is stacking up to be interesting in the tech world. I'm waiting to see what unfolds.
I'm a Verizon Wireless Rep and to be honest, with Sprint and T-Mobile you really get what your paying for. Nothing else. Thats why we have been the Number 1 Wireless Seller in America for 2 years in a row according to J.D. Powers Associates. The Incredible is just the top of the line and the Nexus One my friend is way too expensive for customers to buy. No discounts at all, you have to buy it retail through Google. And, It's deff not worth it.
Very interested in this phone.Wife has droid eris and love android OS.an leaning that way on renewal. Will rim/blackberry come out with new stuff to compete in touch screen phones.currently have storm1.new OS 5 is good but we got kicked to the curb.
Anyone know if the HTC or EVO have the navigation available on the Nexus One?
Everyone Android phone has the Navigation – even the Droid had it (returned that clunky POS after 2 weeks).
Tired of waiting.
No news yet…
Honestly I have been waiting for a decent phone to come to VZW that could compete with the IPHONE for over 2 years! I was excited for the droids…but reality hit when the Eris was tiny and lacked the power the moto droid has, then the moto droid lacked pinch to zoom and a handful of other features that i felt were important. Yes with the 2.1 update majority of those probs were fixed…but with the rumors of these new powerhouses coming out I cant bare to think about getting the moto droid. I have waited 2 years, and have been pushing my poor Voyager to the limit…paying month to month on the verge of leaving VZW, but they need to release this damn phone asap! The IPHONE drops in June and if these android phones are not out by then or they suck, I am leaving VZW if they dont have it. I want the Incredible so bad but cmon this is ridiculous you can only take so much.
You could not have said it better. My Vcast phone started breaking down and I continued to use it waiting for the N1 (my hubby has the Droid, too clunky for me). When the vcast finally broke, I started using my hubby's old Samsung while waiting for these damn new androids to drop. Now after 2 weeks, that phone is breaking down too! I am so stressed out….release the phones already or quit the secrecy so I know the time frame I am dealing with. I literally don't have a phone to go with my service! It is enough to make me want to switch carriers!!!!
it's today! no release info. You guys dont know what your talking about. Its all rumors.
Sick and tired of waiting for a stinkin phone to come out. Wife finally told me that if I didn't want to wait I could get a macbook pro instead…..guess what I did and couldn't be happier
!!!!
Please HTC , make a version of this phone with a physical keyboard!!!
all i care about is the camera. incredible wins
I too have been waiting paitiently for the Nexus One…however due to Google's arrogance over marketng the thing and now the distain I have over the issue. I will gladly opt for the Incredible.
Hype is Hype…the incredible specs clearly show it's a better phone.
april 29 the incredible comes to stores
what does the nexus one have that the Incredible doesn't? It seems like a no-brainer to go with the Incredible. Am I missing something?
Sure I would like the N1, Next Gen iPhone, or the HTC EVO, but since I'm locked in with Verizon and I bundle to save money, I don't think I can wait any longer for a better phone then the Droid Incredible. Something better will always follow. I've been a Blackberry user for 3 years, but I'm tired of their unwillingness to step up their game, so I'm jumping ship and going Android-HTC. I'll be pre-ordering my Droid Incredible tomorrow at my local Best Buy to avoid paying Verizon the extra $100 until I get the rebate. I'm tried of using a useless trackball using a magnifying glass when surfing the internet on my BB 9630 Tour. Hello Incredible!
the back of the incredible is soooooo ugly, fix it plz
the evo is going to be awsome. I'm just angry that they didn't announce the release date yet. Or the cost.
I hope it doesn't dissapoint me like the palm pre I got from sprint.
You can order practicly any verizon phone online and get the instant rebate without waiting. I have a friend who works for Verizon and he said the incredible is one of the best to be made (to date) am going to get it. if you want the keyboard get the droid aries. as for me im etting the droid incredible.
