Android Phones, Sony Mobile
There are plenty of people who have already written off the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 for its lack of pinch-zoom. The people of Japan don’t seem to care much evidenced by these photos posted to the SE product blog today. I first saw these photos last week but decided not to post them when linked because I thought it was an April Fool’s joke. Well, the joke’s on me because these photos were reportedly sent to SE from colleagues in Japan.
DoCoMo’s pre-orders for the X10 surpassed 50,000 units and a few retail stores were packed with people. “At launch day it created more or less chaos in some of their stores and some of my colleagues there sent me some pics from the launch as seen below,” according to SE.
The X10 has some problems to work through in terms of optimizing the software and getting 2.1 onto the phone. However, it’s great to see an Android phone gain some buzz in one of the world’s leading mobile adoption areas. I guess I need to brush up on my Japanese to communicate with all these new readers we’re going to get.
Moshi, Moshi, Android.

I got mine on the third – I'd fortunately preordered a few weeks before. In short: It works great. Wonderful, huge screen; keyboard works fine after a bit of practice (turn on vibrate for feedback); the SE interface – timescape and mediascape – are surprisingly useful, and I'll probably keep them even though I thought I wouldn't. The UI generally feels snappy and responsive. I'm very happy with the Xperia, and although I of course want the 2.1 update at some point I don't feel any actual need for it or anything.
It would have been nice to actually see someone with an X10 in hand. Those photos could be any phone release.
The x10 have several flaw the bigest one is 1.6,they annonce 2.1 for the end of the year but by that time all the other device from other compagny will run 2.2 already….there a petition asking sony for 2.2 plese sign it. http://www.petitiononline.com/froyo/petition.html
