myTouch Slide to run Android 2.1 and Espresso version of Sense UI

We haven’t been very kind to the myTouch Slide here at Androinica. Who wants to see the same phone get RAZR’d and redone over and over? The latest series of leaks sent to TMoNews reveals that the myTouch is a redo in name only as this is greatly different from the myTouch.

Of course, the most obvious change is that there’s a physical keyboard that slides out on the slide. Get it? There are also some design tweaks including a large trackpad and button placement. The hardware changes will make the myTouch more appealing to some, but the phone running an Android 2.1 version of Sense UI will attract others. The myTouch Slide comes with the Espresso version of Sense UI, which has a different style of icons and interface.

The Android world is still waiting on whether or not this will have better specs than the last-gen processor and RAM/ROM specs rumored earlier this year. Here are a few photos of the Slide.
