Mobsters grows from Facebook/Myspace and muscles in on Android’s turf

Back when I still used MySpace on a regular basis, Mobsters was as ubiquitous as any game developer could hope for their creation. I expect Mobster to enjoy a similar level of popularity now that the social game is now available on Android.

I just received a heads up from Playdom, the company behind Mobsters, that their flagship creation is now available in the Android Market. Playdom’s Mobster: Big Apple joins m:Mafai and iMobsters in a three-way race for mafia-themed social gaming. It’s kind of like when the Five Families go to war, except the guns are virtual in this rivalry.

Here are the highlights from the Android Market description

  • Mobsters: Big Apple claims to be “the biggest mafia game on Android”
  • Download includes 10 free favor points
  • 65 missions and large array of vehichles and weaponry
  • Supports existing games on Facebook or MySpace

Also of note, Sorority Life is coming to Android . If you’ve played that game on Facebook or MySpace, you’ll be able to continue on your phone soon.
