HTC offers apology to Hero owners regarding 2.1 rollout delays

The Android 2.1 rollout continues, and for many including the HTC Hero users there have been what seem like endless delays and setbacks. Thankfully, in what comes as a little bit of a silver lining on a dark cloud, HTC has offered up an apology for the delays;
“The integration of Éclair on the HTC Hero took longer to develop than anticipated and we apologise for this delay.”
“We are committed to meeting our customers’ demand for this update.”
Of course, in the end an apology does not get Android 2.1 any sooner but at least they are not taking this lightly and even more importantly is that we know its still coming and has not been permanently shelved. That said, at some point they may need to consider bypassing Android 2.1 and simply setting their sites on rolling out Android 2.2 Froyo.

I understand the NEW "Incredible" which SHOULD arrive at my home THIS Thursday is SUPPOSED to have "Android 2.1" in it. Does this mean it TOO will be DELAYED, or ONLY that the UPGRADE to 2.1 for HERO is LATE ???
How about an apology to HTC Magic owners who are being left out in the cold!
Does this extend to Eris users as well?
cinval… htc magic update is from Goolge.. not form HTC… so.. lets go to ask them!
@ jordi. My magic (australia three hutch) is definitly not a google experience phone and does not come with OTA. We have recieved the sense 1.5 update but nothing else.. HTC, not google, is the upgrade provider for these Magic variations.
