The HTC Desire is the class of Android phones available in the UK, and 3UK is getting in on the action. Androinica reader Daz just pointed out that the Desire is now up for pre-order at ThreeStore, 3′s official online store.
The Desire’s cost depends on the tariff selected. The phone is free to anyone who signs-up for the £35 Internet Texter program (2-year tariff for 750 minutes, unlimited text, web, 3-to-3 calls, and Skype-to-Skype). The Desire will cost anywhere from £99.99 to £199.99 for an 18-month tariff. No off-contract price is listed, but it was previously reported to cost £349.99 for PAYG users.
The HTC Desire Graphite will ship to customers beginning Friday April 23. When first announced at Mobile World Congress, the Nexus One relative instantly became one of the most coveted phones on the market. Click here for more information on the Desire.
[Thanks for the tip, Daz!]

No problem
Just read that 3UK will also be pre-selling to customers that are eligable upgrade and in the last 3 months of your contract. Delivery of handsets pre-sold to existing customers through the Upgrades team will be available for delivery from the 17th April onwards. Three say "we try and make our upgrade deals as personal as possible for all of our customers. They’re based on the tariff you’ve come off, and the mix of minutes/texts/internet/phone you want moving forwards "
update, a lot of 3uk customers have been having problems trying to get their upgrades to the HTC Desire. There has been a lot of confusion on the (http://blog.three.co.uk/2010/04/09/update-htc-des… ) Blog from the moderators posting positive info on how to get an upgrade and then customers calling Three and being let down by Three's customer services upgrade department.
@Daz. Yeah it's not very nice. They're trying but I do get the feeling I could get a much better deal if I was speaking to someone else. Ordered mine yesterday so hopefully it'll come on saturday as they're now saying they've sold out of upgrade stock.
