Google has updated Google Image Search to include some new design tweaks for Android 2.1 devices. When searching online for an image, users will now see a new set of images with more thumbnails packed into the design of the phone.
According to the Google Mobile blog, Image Search purposely changed the site to make it easier to see and locate images relevant to search queries. Other changes include:
- Swipe left or right to see the next page. Rather than press individual images, you can navigate with gestures. This also extends to swiping from image to image
- Images load faster thanks to new changes
- A black background to place more emphasis on the images
Also worth noting is the debut of Google’s Places website. You may have used the Places application in the past to get information on points of interest, but some page may opt to use the mobile version now available. It doesn’t require space on your phone and still provides the reviews, ratings, contact, and location information that you need.
