Today is a great day for house hunters with Android phones. Not only has Zillow.com released its Android app, real estate website ZipRealty has released its own app into the Android Market. ZipRealty maintains listings for homes in 4,800 U.S. cities, and those listings are now available on your Android phone.
ZipRealty allows users to search for a home by zip code, location, size, and price. Results are displayed over Google Maps and can take advantage of Street View to gauge curbside appeal (though it may not be accurate given that someone may have since made exterior changes and neighborhoods change). The search also taps into GPS to search for nearby homes. Want to find a house closer to work or in that trendy new neighborhood? ZipRealty will reveal home features and prices.
Home buyers can take advantage of the recent sales feature. If there’s one thing years of watching house-flipping shows has taught me, you always have to check the comps to make sure you’re getting a fair price. There are also photos, details, and Cyberhomes and eppraisal estimates for more than 1 million homes.
