More rumors: Sprint Hero and Moment update coming next Friday March 26

In a little more news that sounds almost better than it should, a new rumored release date for the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment 2.1 update has popped up and its close, next Friday March 26. This date is a little better sounding as compared to last week when according to a leaked internal memo was expected to be available in the “coming weeks.” Of course, as we mentioned in regards to the “coming weeks” time frame, there is still nothing official about March 26, and should be considered just a rumor at this point.
But that said, the information of this new release date is coming courtesy of a few individuals who claim to have spoken with and been told of the release by Sprint employees.
“I kept on asking about the firmware release and they finally released a date for the 2.1 firmware. He stated and confirm that this update will come on 03/26/2010.”
“Called sprint to find out when 2.1 update was coming. After being transfered several times I ended up talking to a sprint HTC hero tech specialist. He said it will be released end of March and can be downloaded at http://www.sprint.com/downloads or over the air by accessing the firmware update feature on your hero.”
Personally it sounds too easy, but that is just the skeptic in me speaking. I guess we will find out for sure next Monday, that is, unless we find yet another rumored availability date before that happens.

monday is not the 26th
This Friday is the 26th. A mere 4 days from today and I bet you we don't see 2.1. These rumors are just what they sound like rumors. Sprint Hero owner

I hope the date is correct. Samsung has really been dragging there feet on releasing this update. The Moto Droid hasn't been out on the market that long and is already receiving the 2.1 update. The next Android phone I get will definitely not be a Samsung because of there slowness.
After Feb. tec update. I opened my phone and cought a glimpse of 2.1 style scerrn in my contact file. May have gotten update soft and the online “update” for 2.1 is just a switch to activate dormant software.
They don't do it that way.
Sprint sucks wit their updated, its not HTC or Samsung, jus the carriers
To verify this post, I not only went online with Tech support chat but I called also and got a hero tech support person as well. BOTH confirmed that the update will be March 26th.
I was also chatting with and sprint agent online and he stated and comfirmed that andriod 2.1 will be out on 3/26/2010.
Can I go to a sprint store to get the update? I have problems. With my computer and moment recognizing each other

I just spoke with Sprint via chat and got it in writing that the firmware update (2.1) will be available 4/9/2010, they promised it will fix all picture mail issues as well. They also said that they manually had to upgraded on that day, we shall see!
IT’S THE 26TH, AND I SEE NOTHING.
I am very frustrated with these rumors, Ive been waiting forever and I bet I am going to end up getting the EVO before this fu**ing update comes out!

Last thing I’ve heard was the hero will get 2.1 on the 9th…(key word heard) there was also talk of a maintance update along with the hero getting 2.1 but nothing on the moment..my info was from some leak from sprint…anyone else seen this memo leak?
