MLB.com releases lesser version of At Bat app for Android

MLB.com has released the Android version of its popular baseball app, though it’s lacking the headline feature of live video footage. While the iPhone version of the app features live footage of games, the Android version of At Bat has only live audio streams.
Hardcore baseball fans will still get a kick out of MLB.com At Bat 2010. The $14.99 provides audio streams for home and away teams, box scores, MLB.com Gameday pitch-by-pitch updates, score lines, and in-game video highlight reels of key plays. The real-time features also include tracking the standings of each division.
The beta version of MLB.com was released last year deep into the playoffs as a test run. The 2010 version includes news from spring training. The app supports Android 1.5 and higher, but 2.0 or higher is recommended for the best performance of live audio streaming.
R2D2 here, Apple can posture all they want. First it's sue HTC and now shut down WiFi apps. The Android revolution has just begun. Soon Jobs will go thru the entire competitive cycle and come to "acceptance." Within two of your earth years, the Android army will have marched over your planet. You heard it here first! I'm R2D2 and I know my Droids!!!
Why no video? Apple probably threatened to ban MLB from the app store if they made an equal or better android app. Then steve went back to trembling in a fetal position.
Apple rules and you know it.
It's insane that MLB is charging the same for Droid service without access to live streaming as it is for the iphone service, which has live streaming.
I have a subscription to MLB.com videos – very cool, live HD games with some black out restrictions and it costs, like $125/year . . . so why do I have to pay $14.99 MORE to listen to the same radio play by play I already can get on my PC? I have flash on my tablet, so why can't I watch the same video I could see on my PC (ok, the video won't be as good but who cares). Has anyone with an mlb.com subscription played around to try to watch mlb.video with the browser only and not using the app? LMK! I do not have the skills to do so this bur sure can copy what you did!
