Has the Motorola DROID update been scrapped? All signs point to yes.

Verizon
UPDATE: Verizon says that the update is going ahead as planned. The small batch of users have received their update already and they still hope to release it to more people if there are no known issues.
Just a quick update for all you Motorola Droid owners who have been obsessively checking your phone today to see if it would be updated to Android 2.1. Don’t bother.
It turns out that the OTA update will not be rolling out today as originally planned. Though 9,000 people were expected to be the first to receive the update this morning, Droid owners are once again in the dark about when they will get the latest version of Android.
BGR got a tip confirming the update cancellation that reveals: “The OTA software update for the DROID by Motorola is TBD. A new date will be communicated as soon as possible…The 3/18 OTA software update will not happen as planned.”
And cue the irate Droid owners condemning Verizon, Motorola, and the subcontractor who actually delivers these updates…now.
Were any of you lucky enough to receive an update or are you still stuck on 2.0?

The update was to go out to 1000 users at noon and then 9000 more users at 11:59pm. Then after a 24hr period 200,00 more each day until complete. I asked MotoMobile if there was a delay to the 2.1 update and there response was:
MotoMobile @ParrisP The update is being released to a small amt of test users today and will begin rolling out to the gen public soon after
Although I'm not sure if the can be trusted at this point…
Stil Stuck on 0
Its been just delayed. Not scrapped as this article suggests.
Moto suck, Veri suck, and whoever handle the act updates sucks too still stuck on 2.0
Um…these really aren't MUST HAVE features. It'll be nice to have, but the OS as is is fine (for droid owners)
EXACTLY ! This isn't the same thing as the Cupcake release was for the G1 (which I also endured). This is nice when it comes, but I love my Droid the way it is.
Stop trusting BGR they are lying to you! The Verizon Wireless Twitter feed says that everything is on schedule!

My Droid had an update notification this morning for Google Maps. Not sure what new features it has but perhaps it's part of the v2.1 overall update. Hopefully it will auto dim tonight. Anyone else get a google map update this morning?
I've been running 2.1 flawlessly for months on my droid with live wallpapers, 2.1 apps(google earth), and launcher 2. Learn how to root, its easy, and completely safe with the new recovery software thats out. Its now almost impossible to brick your phone.
