It looks like this is a case of ask and you shall receive. Twitter user @antoniodfr posted the simple question;
@ Vodafone_es Good morning, I wanted to ask if there will be updated to android 2.0 on our magics.
Thank you very much!
And Vodafone was kind enough to respond;
@ Antoniodfr I will confirm that, but no exact date
Of course there are lots of missing details here, such as when this will be available. Not to mention, why 2.0 and not 2.1? But either way, its nice to see that Vodafone customers using the HTC Magic have a nice update to look for in the future.

Which HTC Magic exactly that update is for? The 32A or the 32B?
Thank you!
aren`t the dream and magic nearly the same phones?
It should be very easy for someone to bring 2.0 to the G1 then
the Magic has more storage space. it has been suggested that the Eclair versions of Android will be too big to fit on a G1, so there's no guarantee that you'll see the same updates
Clearly those suggestions are false, because I'm running Eclair on my G1 right now. But the fact that it is possible to run Eclair on a G1 doesn't mean we will see an official update for it. It's a shame, because the performance is actually very very good, as are the added features.
stam,
Vodafone Magic is 32B. Good news!
I thought the Magic was 32A and the mytouch3g was 32B?
Here in Greece, Vodafone sells the 32A version of HTC Magic, while I bought from Germany the Vodafone brander 32B version of HTC Magic…
Anyway, I hope the update is for the vodafone brander device (32B)!!!
Anyway, why does everyone care bout updates so much? It's super easy to root and flash amazing ROMs these days, all it takes is a little patience and willingness to learn. :] I'm running htcclay's FastTest 2.7 right now and it's fantastic.
where you go to learn how to do that? thanks
search for "xda developers". Go to the forum,… all the info you could possibly need is there under the "HTC Saphire: myTouch 3G, Magic" section.
Yea, It's justed as easy to brick your HTC Magic (Vodafone) since Voda have crippled it like they do everything else. And its made with Google so it's actually nothing like a normal HTC Magic. If it is made with Google how ever, it will be a 32b. If its a normal HTC magic it's most likely to be 32a. I'd recommend checking just in case am wrong. Am only human !!
