Steve Jobs disses Android, Flash, everything non-Apple

Steve Job was talking a lot of trash against Apple’s competitors, including Android and Flash, during an internal meeting, according to various reports.

According to a paraphrased account over on Wired, Jobs said of Google’s Android teams “We did not enter the search business … they entered the phone business. Make no mistake they want to kill the iPhone. We won’t let them.” He also reportedly said Google’s motto of “Don’t be evil,” is BS.

Other reports said Apple is prepping new features for future versions of the iPhone OS that will be far ahead of anything Google can do. Look for more bad blood to surface between Apple and Google because the two are rapidly becoming the leaders in the smartphone space (maybe not in terms of sheer units, but definitely in mindshare).

He also called Adobe “lazy” because most of the crashes on Safari are from plug-ins like Flash. That’s actually a solid point but Adobe probably hasn’t been too concerned with a Mac platform that has less than 5% of the market.
