We officially know that Sprint is planning to update both the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment with Android 2.1 “sometime in the first half of 2010.” Well, aside from that time period getting slightly shorter than the last time we heard the news, we now have another little bit coming in the form of a rumor.
According to the rumor mill, the Samsung Moment update is expected to begin rolling out as of February 22. And yes, if I have not made it clear yet — this is a rumor.
Now assuming we can believe the rumor, it looks like anyone wanting to update as of the 22nd will have to visit a Sprint store. In terms of the OTA version of the update, that is
expected rumored to begin rolling out on March 8.
Both dates clearly fit in with the “first half of 2010″ timeframe, but sadly these come with little support of being true. Still, Moment owners can hope. Now, assuming this is true — will this be enough to convince you to visit a retail location, or can you hold out to the 8th of March.?
