Official eBay app now available in the Android Market

Android Apps
As of this morning, Android users now have an official eBay app available in the Market. But that does come with a slight catch because the app seems to require 1.6 or later and at this time is only available for those in the US. But moving forward, for those that are in the US and are on 1.6 or later…
Feature wise, the eBay app will allow users to search and buy items, as well as pay for items that you already purchased and check the status of anything that you currently have listed. Other features include voice search, alerts, the ability to leave feedback and advanced searching.
And yes, its available as a free download. With that, I am slightly happy that I am using a Droid Eris and I am still running 1.5 because the last thing that I need is easier access to eBay.

The good news: I successfully downloaded the eBay app to my Verizon DRIOD and I successfully logged into my eBay account. The bad news: The eBay app for the Verizon DRIOD doesn't have a "Messages" icon and therefore the app has very limited use for me. eBay chat was not successful. I uninstalled -for now- and I wait for a fix.
