Mobile World Congress 2010 gets official app for navigating event

Mobile World Congress 2010 is only two weeks away, and everyone in attendance will be able to take advantage of an official mobile guide developed for Android phones. MWC 2010 helps eventgoers make sense of the maze of people and companies attending one of the world’s largest mobile events. The app displays a floor plan of the exhibit hall, making it easier to see where to find certain companies. It also includes an agenda for sessions with topic details and location.

I’m a big fan of these types of event apps. The first I’ve encountered was the app created specifically for Google I/O 2009, which was an excellent way to navigate what can be a very hectic event. When I attended CES last month, I would have killed to have an integrated app to show me where to go, when to go, and which sessions were worth my time. Google Calendar, Photo Gallery, and Astrid helped me get the job done, but it would have been better to get it all in one place.

If you’re one of the lucky people who will be playing with the new phones available at MWC 2010, take advantage of this new Android app.
