Location check-in and sharing service Gowalla has a beta application available for Android. Though the Gowalla website just tells Android users to browse their mobile site, a Gowalla rep has posted a link to the beta application for users who have been waiting on a native application.
Gowalla plans to release a “fully-featured beta” to the Android Market sometime this week, but impatient users can take a look at it now and provide some last-minute feedback. Be aware that the app doesn’t yet support Gowalla Trips and Items or imaging caching, so there will be a few slow load times.
I don’t see the attraction of social networks like GoWalla or Foursquare, but I’m going to give it a try for a couple of months to see if I’ll finally “get it.” Download the app by scanning this giant QR code. If you’re reading from your phone, click this link.
