If you’re sick of waiting for Google to push out the firmware update to your Nexus One, you can get it now by following a few simple steps.
Detailed instructions can be found here, but you basically download the file, put it on your SD card, reboot into the bootloader, and then run the file. It’s a good update that won’t change your applications or change your user settings, and the risk of bricking your phone is really low. If you have a rooted device with an unlocked bootloader it’s important you get your file from here.
I’ve done it with the Nexus One in my house and pinch-to-zoom is pretty cool. The update also brings Google Goggles and fixes 3G bugs. If it seems like too much of a hassle, you’ll likely only have to wait a few days until the update is pushed out over the air.
