Motorola promises to bring multitouch to most of their phones

Much has been made about multitouch on Android phones, and anyone clamoring for the feature will be happy to know that Motorola plans to implement it in most future devices. Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha has told Laptop Magazine that his company would add multitouch, saying:

I think you will see us deliver multitouch in the majority of our devices going forward. There’s a complex set of factors, not all of them technical. But I think you’ll see us being proactive on multitouch because the user feedback on multitouch is very good.

Given Motorola’s heavy involvement in Android, “the majority of our devices” translates to almost every Android phone that Motorola releases will have multitouch.  This is great news for everyone demanding multitouch (more accurately the “pinch zoom” feature). Personally, I could care less because I never have a problem zooming in on anything, but I know this is something plenty of people have their eye on when looking at new products.

There are a number of forward-looking statements worth reading in the Q&A at Laptopmag.com.
