Sprint extends their 4G coverage to the Seattle area

While T-Mobile is continuing on their 3G rollout path, we are now getting news of Sprint and their 4G efforts. Of course, even as slow as the T-Mobile 3G rollout may seem for those still waiting, the Sprint 4G rollout does not appear to be happening at any sort of rapid pace.

Anyway, according to a recent press release the Seattle area has recently been given the gift of 4G.

“Seattle is one of the first communities to enjoy 4G wireless connections from Sprint, the first national wireless carrier to test, launch and market 4G technology. Sprint 4G delivers download speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G.”

Of course, we are talking about a different network and that means different prices and different plans which will limit many, including those in the Seattle area. Still, it is kind of interesting to see this being rolled out, but at the same time I can help to feel just a little bit more frustrated that I seem to spend quite a bit of time bouncing between EVDO and 1X where I live.
