The fine folks over at Mobile Android China found something very, very interesting, and even if we don’t have specific details regarding a release or even if it is coming to the US’ shores, what we can discern is pretty fantastic. What we’ve got here are the first shots of the Motorola Sholes Tablet. Don’t get too cozy with that name though, as it appears to be a codename and won’t likely make it to the final stages of development. If it gets to the final stage of development, that is.
Those features I mentioned go like this: a 550 MHz OMAP TI 3430 processor; 3.7″ touchscreen; 800 x 480 resolution; HDMI port; UMTS/HSPA, 8MP camera with a Xenon flash, and a 3.5mm headset jack. Whether it surprises you or not, the Sholes Tablet is apparently set to run with Android 2.0, which means that if it does launch, it will probably be loaded with Android 2.1.
That HDMI port is pictured in the top-left, with the circle around it. The 3.5mm headset jack is unmistakable in the photo. No, there isn’t much to glean from the images themselves, except for that odd shade of blue there on the back, it’s the features along with those pictures that make us a bit more excited than we probably should be to be a healthy individual. Rumors have circulated that the Sholes Tablet will be hitting T-Mobile if it does indeed make it out of those warehouses, so keep your fingers crossed T-Mobile customers. Once more details start breaking on this device, we’ll let you know.
