The question everyone with an HTC Hero or Droid Eris wants answered is when their phone will be upgraded to Android 2.0. People want their Google Maps Navigator and they want it now!
HTC has already confirmed that it’s hard at work to get Sense ready for Eclair (Android 2.0) and Verizon has jumped into the fray promising that the Droid Eris, which runs Sense, will be upgraded to a “newer Android operating system software in first quarter 2010.”
A 2010 update is not what many folks wanted to hear but it’s the reality that Eris users will have to face. Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney says that the update will be either Android 2.0 or 2.1, which hasn’t been announced as complete yet. HTC has not provided any timeframe for a Sense update, but in light of Verizon’s comments, they will likely be ready to partner with carriers at some point in the next 3 months. The Sprint Hero will hopefully be ready for an update within that same time period.

That is both hilarious, and frustrating. Right now, I'm loving the fact my phone's unlocked.

@xenogeist:are you sure? Everything I’ve heard has simply said “Q1 2010″ without a specific date. I hope you’re right. Cupcake has an awful lot of bugs. I had to go back and have my Eris reset before I’d had it a week.
