Camangi WebStation specs, images and the Camangi Market unveiled

As I mentioned in my earlier post about the Camangi WebStation, I am interesting in picking one up, and given that I did sign up for the early bird offer they have on their website.

And because I added my email to that list I just recently received an update on the status of the WebStation. Anyway, while all the details are not yet given, it seems that progress is being made.

Just to sum up the email, Camangi has announced a new official website which can be found at They have also rolled out the usual suspects as far as “social” marketing which includes an official Twitter and Facebook page. Both are linked, just in case anyone is interested.

Additionally, they have rolled out the Camangi Market, which initially sounds like good news, but after paying a little more attention — it is tagged as beta. That and, there are only about 5 apps currently listed in their Market.

Moving on to the specs, here is what we can expect in terms of the WebStation:

  • 7-inch widescreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution
  • Display is hard glass and resistive
  • Android OS 1.5
  • Marvell PXA303 624MHz processor
  • System memory: 128MB Mobile DDR
  • Flash memory: 265MB NAND (system)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • GPS
  • microSD card slot
  • Built-in omni-directional microphone
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Built-in speakers
  • Type A and mini-B USB ports
  • Has a built-in 4000mAh Lithium Polymer battery
  • Battery life of up to 4 days on standby with 4-5 hours of Internet and media usage
  • Measures 4.72 (height) x 7.87 (width) x 0.57 (thick) inches
  • Weighs 13.75 ounces
  • Available in Pearl White, Piano Black of Light Pink

Finally, in terms of the important information, you know price and a release date. Nothing was given, well nothing aside from that the “pre-order payment system will be ready in upcoming days.” But hopefully that will change sooner than later.

Personally, I am still holding out hope, and will most likely make a purchase once the WebStation becomes available. That said, here is a copy of the email that I received, which is followed by the additional images.
