Looking for a slightly discounted Motorola Droid? You get one at Walmart for $188

This is certainly not the first time we have seen discounted phones, or even discounted Android phones at Walmart. But at the same time it is always nice to see more available places to make a purchase, especially if they are going to be selling said item for a little less money.

In this case, interested shoppers can head on over to Walmart and pick up a Verizon Wireless branded Motorola Droid for $188.

The nice part here, and the real reason to shop at Walmart instead of Verizon is not in the $10 discount you will be getting, but in the fact that you will not have to worry about a mail-in-rebate.

The Walmart pricing is what it is, customers willing to sign a two-year agreement will simply pay $188. Additionally, those looking to sign a one-year agreement will be able to pay $298 and those brave enough to shell out the big bucks can pay $500 and get the Droid contract free.

One word of caution however, you may want to call your local Walmart before heading out. According to the story that I am getting, not every Walmart stocks Verizon branded phones. Of course, with the way there is a Walmart on just about every corner (except in my town) your closest one is most likely not that far of a drive anyway.

Hmm while the 2 year might be a discount the 1yr is more than you would pay if you bought it through verizonwireless.com at $269.99 and it too is a instant $100 discount( not a MIR) so that is the actual price you pay. And the no contract is a $70 savings over the VZW $569.99
