Motorola CLIQ now available with T-Mobile, $199 on contract, $399 off contract

In addition to the Samsung Moment, we also saw the Motorola CLIQ become available as of today. Of course, the CLIQ is available with T-Mobile here in the US, and they seem to be pushing a few options for purchase.
We have the more traditional method, agree to a two year contract and get a lower price, or grab one of the new Even More Plus plans and go contract free.
In terms of pricing, on contract you can expect to pay $199.99. That comes with the previously mentioned contract, which in this case is two years.
Or for those that prefer to go contract free, the CLIQ will then set you back $399.99.
Side note from and Android fan: I have watched over the past few weeks and I am amazed — the long awaited Android handsets are now really becoming available. We are actually able to report on available phones, instead of just rumors and up and coming handsets. Just today we saw the Moment and CLIQ, and not that long ago had the Hero. Then just a few more days away we have the Droid. Exciting times have begun. Sorry, ending the fanboy dribble.

Wow…the CLIQ and the Droid are the same price? How does that make sense?
carriers typically subsidize the cost of the phone, so something that costs $500 to build will be sold to customers for only $200 because carriers are willing to pay manufacturers for the difference. since both are on different carriers, you'll have a different willingness to set price subsidies.
Thanks, Andrew. Yeah, the process is what it is, I guess – just seems like an odd decision by T-Mo to set an equal price on clearly inferior hardware. Makes me wonder what will happen if the rumors that the Droid may soon be available come to pass…
