Android phone owners will get another option for syncing content between their phone and their computer this month. Mark/Space is set to release “The Missing Sync for Android,” a PC and Mac-compatible program for linking contacts, music, photos, documents, and more between device and computer.
Missing Sync looks to meet the needs of Android users who want a simpler way of syncing content than having to drag-and-drop new files to their SD card. We’ve profiled a similar application named DoubleTwist that seeks to meet the same need, but Missing Sync promises some features not yet available in that program. Version 1.0 of the software is set to feature syncs for the following content:
- Contacts – Outlook, Address Book, or Entourage sync
- Music – iTunes or Windows Media Player playlists (non-protected media only)
- Photos – From camera to computer and computer to SD card. Mac users can sync to iPhoto
- Video – Converts files into suitable formats
- Documents and Files – PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Documents can be synced
- Ringtones – Includes a built-in editor for creating ringtones
- Podcasts – Subscribe and program will transfer playlists of latest episodes
The Mark/Space website promises that Missing Sync later this year will also be able to sync calendars, tasks, notes, bookmarks, text messages, and call history, creating a backup archive of your phone’s content. Proximity Sync will enable wireless syncing of calendars and contacts.

Great!
"later this year will also be able to sync calendars" For calendars I'm using Google Calendar Sync. Just leave it running in the background alongside Outlook and it syncs my calendar to Google which in turn syncs to my phone. No cables needed. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer…
Google Calendar Sync is unusable. It syncs the WHOLE calendar every time. With almost 2000 calendar entries in my Outlook calendar, this takes forever and is unnecessary. Until they manage to implement time range sync, it's quite useless for daily syncing.
I don't understand this statement that it syncs the WHOLE calendar. Are you saying it does not sync only the changes, and is replacing events that are already in the calendar. This is hard to believe.
