Sprint telesales reportedly selling the HTC Hero early

We have already seen the report that Best Buy Reward Zone customers were going to be able to purchase the Sprint branded HTC Hero as of this morning (Friday the 9th of October) however there are more than a few reports popping up that the Hero is also available via Sprint Telesales.
“Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the HERO is available through sprint telesales right now!”
The good news with this is that the reports are suggesting that this is open to everyone, of course your results may depend on which rep you speak with. Of course, should you call in, just make sure you are ready to part with your $279.99 and willing to agree to a new two-year agreement. Also, make sure you do not forget to take care of the mail-in-rebate, which will give you back $100 and bring the final cost of the Hero down to $179.99.
