Google unveils the Quick Search Box for Android

I have been a big fan of the Google Quick Search Box for both the Mac and PC, so naturally I was excited to see the introduction come for Android. For those that have not used the Quick Search Box from Google, in short it will allow to to quickly (hence the name) search both the web and your phone from a single location — a single location that lives on your home screen.

The search data will include results from your apps, contacts, the web, your browser history as well as more personalized results such as local weather, stock prices and local business listings.

Although I have not been able to confirm this on Android as of yet, however (similar to the desktop version) the Quick Search Box is also noted as being able to learn you habits, which over time means your results will eventually get a little better and also a little faster.

Additionally, you can also tap the microphone icon to the right of the search box and begin to search by voice. The voice commands will allow you to do things like search the web or make a call.
