T-Mobile to offer Huawei Pulse to pre-paid customers

Prep-paid phone customers typically get the shaft when it comes to phone choices. However, T-Mobile UK customers will get a temporary reprieve in an Android-powered phone. T-Mobile UK will offer the Huawei Pulse to pre-paid customers rather than demanding a contract. The Pulse will arrive in October at a cost of £179.99 ($293 USD). It will then cost £5 per day for mobile service and £1 per day for using the Internet. I’m not familiar enough with the carrier charges in the UK to know if this is a good deal or not but it seems a little high from a Yankee’s perspective.
The Pulse comes with the following specifications:
- HVGA resolution, 3.5-inch touchscreen, 320 x 480 pixels
- Quad-band GSM connectivity
- 3.2MP camera with autofocus
- GPS
- 2GB internal memory, expandable MicroSD slot
- Qualcomm MSM7200A chipset at 528MHz
- Talk time up to 210 minutes
- Standby time up to 300 hours
