Motorola Sholes gets FCC clearance

Motorola fans, meet the Motorola Sholes A855. That’s the name that the Verizon-bound device you’ve been watching has used to pass the FCC test. Don’t get too excited just yet. Motorola asked the FCC for confidentiality in its application, meaning the great details and up-close photos we expect aren’t available just yet.

The Sholes comes with CDMA (the communication mode used by Verizon), EV-DO data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. That’s about all we can say for sure based on the FCC filings and it was pretty much a given. Android fans may have to wait until a few weeks to see the Sholes’ coming out party. Motorola is hosting a developers event October 6, and the CTIA trade show will be October 7-9. Those are two big opportunities for a coming-out party, so let’s hope the Sholes becomes the star of the week.
