Transdroid app allows for remote monitoring, control of your torrent downloads

Here we have another torrent app for Android, and yes I say another because for some reason it seems there are plenty available. If you remember back, in the past we have seen ScanTorrent (which later became BarTor) as well as Torrent Droid — now the latest is Transdroid.

As for what Transdroid offers, well to begin with the app is available at the nice price of free. But perhaps more important is that it offers support for a wide variety of desktop torrent applications which include Transmission, uTorrent, Deluge and rTorrent.

What Transdroid does is allow the user to monitor the torrent download they have on their home computer from afar. You will be able to control which files download as well as pause, resume and remove downloads. Of course, perhaps a little more important is the fact that you can also add new torrents, which is done by way of an IsoHunt powered search or by directly entering a URL to a know torrent.

I would have tested this app out personally, however despite my enthusiasm for available torrent apps on my G1, I rarely if ever use a torrent app even on my desktop. That said, check out the video below to see Transdroid in action…
