T-Mobile UK has confirmed that it will launch a new Android phone this year. According to a tweet from the official T-Mobile UK Twitter page, the next Android device will be named the G1Touch. No further details have been provided, but the use of G1 in the title instantly raises my eyebrows. Will this be a rebranded version of something we’ve already seen (Hero, perhaps?) or something entirely new?
In related T-Mobile Android news, it seems that the Huawei’s U8230 is on deck to invade Europe shortly. According to a report by PCWorld, T-Mobile will begin selling the U8230 in Europe within a few months. A Huawei representative revealed that the company is prepping their Android phone for T-Mobile in the late third quarter of 2009, meaning we could soon hear more about this device shortly.
Come to think of it, perhaps these two news items are more related than we think?
