In what sounds like a logical move, especially considering T-Mobile is planning to roll out their second Android handset in “early summer” it looks like the G1 will be getting a price cut.
As of this coming Friday (June 5, 2009) T-Mobile will be lowering the price on the G1 from $179.99 down to $149.99. Initially I thought this was a great deal, sure the G1 is about to have a second Android phone to compete with, but $30 off is still a nice discount. Of course, I then remembered (and verified) that you are still able to get a G1 on Amazon for $97.99.
