Google Maps for Android relaunched with new features (screenshots included)

Google Maps on Android underwent a feature overhaul Sunday evening. Google, Inc., unveiled a new and improved Maps application that adds voice search, reverse directions, public transit or walking directions, integrated street view, updated routes based on GPS location, and improved support for Google Latitude.

The updated Android Google Maps is a much better app that’s also friendlier to one-handed operation while driving (not an ideal thing, but hey, people do it). In this screenshot gallery, click on a picture to bring up an explanation of the new changes in the new Google Maps Android.

The new Google Maps is not a pushed update, so search for “Google Maps” in the Android Market to download the latest version.
