eReader app; coming to Android this Summer

Despite having and really enjoying the ability to read on my Amazon Kindle I have gotten really accustom to reader on a slightly more mobile device — my phone. Granted, so far most of the phone reading has been done on my iPhone as opposed to my G1, however that is not due to lack of desire to use my G1, but instead due to the lack of a good reading app.
Thankfully, that sounds like it will be changing soon. According to TeleRead, who spoke with spoke with Scott Pendergrast of Fictionwise, eReader will become available as an Android app sometime in “mid to late summer.”
Sounds good to me, but personally I am hoping we also see a Kindle app for Android sooner than later.

Why not use FBreader available in the market right now! I use to use mobipocket on a WM device but since shifting to Android FBreader more than does the job.
I agree w/ nigel. I’ve read several books with FBreader. The only thing it cannot do that I have wanted to do and is frustrating is read DRMed up pdfs checked out from the library.
I do use the FBreader, and it is nice, however the reasons for ereader is the availability of books, as well as a library of ereader books already owned.
If, FBreader could support the ereader format and open those locked books, that would be fine.
How is that wait on a Kindle app for Android going for you? Exciting to see the iPad have Kindle support on day 1?
