Joining the list of those who are currently planning to release an Android based device is BenQ. Just recently they have announced plans to have an Android based smartphone as well as a netbook ready for the public sometime in 2010. Unfortunately, they have not revealed much else, which means we are left to wait until either sometime in 2010 or until we can dig up a little more dirt (which hopefully will come first). This will be BenQ’s first venture with Android, however they currently have Symbian and Windows Mobile smartphones such as the E72 and P50. They are also currently involved in the netbook market, however they are selling those under the name of the Joybook Lite which runs Windows XP. Interestingly, BenQ is not yet a member of the Open Handset Alliance.
