When we last mentioned Brightkite, it was available for download, however it was not yet in the market and was still listed as a beta. Well, we have some good news for those of you that were waiting for an Android Market release.
The good news, of course, is that Brightkite is now available in the Market, and it is available for free. Thankfully, the version that is available for Android is a little more special than for the iPhone.
It seems that the Android version can do cool things such as receive background notifications when the app is not up and running. Additionally, Google Maps is also integrated directly into the app.
