T-Mobile US continues rolling out 3G coverage
May 21, 2009 | by Robert Nelson
Carriers, T-Mobile
Assuming we can believe this 3G roll-out list from T-Mobile is accurate, then we can also assume there will be plenty of happy G1 users because it appears as if the roll-out plans for the remainder of 2009 have been detailed.
The list, which comes via TmoNews was noted as being from a “trusted tipster” so lets hope it is the real deal. The one bad part here is the list is broken down only by quarter, which means that if you are lucky enough to find your city listed then you will have only a rough idea of when to expect a speed increase. Of course, a rough idea is still better than no idea.

Redding, CA but not CHICO!? DAMN YOU TMOBILE!!! Chico is where the youngsters are, what with Chico State being right here. You are missing the youth boat!
YAY CINCINNATI! Home of Jazz Fest and Hip hop!
I have to wonder when they will complete the 3G rollouts in cities that they have already, allegedly upgraded. Denver has good 3G in certain neighborhoods but it's far from ubiquitous. My neighborhood on the south side of town (Littleton) shows 3G on TMO's coverage maps but is only 2G. 3G net starts ~1 mile north. Grrrrr.
Sure would be nice if you could stick to actual news, you know, based on fact, and stop constantly regurgitating fud from the rumor mill.
3G just rolled out in Beaumont Texas. 11:30am Wednesday 5/27/09.
Looks like they either did not realize how many people where going to be useing 3G, or they are just working out some bugs. The service is cuttting in and out. The 3G speed will stay about 5 to 10 min. Then it will cut off.
Will keep you updated.
The 3g did appear yesterday in Beaumont with less than full coverage. I saw coverage in downtown and around the mall area. Download speeds were around 525K. Not bad. Just to think that I was impressed with 225K when I was in Houston two weeks ago!
I dunno whether to believe this or not but its nice to see my city on a somewhat official list. Lafayette, IN appears to be slated for 3G love this summer. My luck it will be late summer. But maybe then I can actually use some of the multimedia apps. I would use youtube a lot more without that annoying lag. Google maps also lags excruciatingly while on EDGE. I am seeing more and more G1s around here so I think its more than high time tmo gets their 3G act together. I'm sick of all these iPhone snobs with their fancy Pandora's and whatnot. I refuse to go back to ATT and their assrapist pricing. Hell I could do with less than 50 minutes of talk, I just want an always on wireless data connection with the occasional call without getting raped for the privilege.
I can only imagine that with the new marketing push there will be a lot of college freshmen coming to school with G1s this fall. Hopefully I will get a taste of the 3G before it gets clogged up with an influx of students.
3G Update for Beaumont Texas.
3G speed has been permanent for about a week now and going strong. So it is official in Beaumont Texas.
I am paying 150 a month. T mobile its time to step your 3g service up. 3g should be everywhere t mobile. A lot of people are paying 150 a month and not getting 3 g service. Not cool at all t mobile.get it together so we can. STICK TOGETHER.
I am from Fresno and the 3G Network is still not available. This is very annoying, and getting really pold. My fiance and I are tired ofg paying a 200 dollar bill for a service were not getting. T Mobile needs to get their damn dicks out of their asses and get this shit rollin seriously.
yea Des Moines is not in idaho just so ya no and ya need 2 hurry up wit the 3G cause I have the g1 and I want fast internet so I could get the google.com faster
Charlotte nc jus got 3g yesterday
