HTC Hero hype: be intrigued, not excited

The Internet is buzzing about Haykuro’s latest alleged work, this time showcasing a future build of what is supposed to be an Android interface. A video showcasing the codenamed “Rosie” Android teaches us: Widgets are the future, a higher premium will be placed on visual design, and it’s kind of a big deal.
I’m amazed just like you are, but be cautious. The visual is stunning and the features seem great, but this is what could happen, not what will happen. And don’t even think about seeing this soon unless your phone has root access.
Also, you may see this and other builds associated with the HTC Hero as “Donut,” but it’s important to note that this is not “Donut.” I’ve seen this label tossed around on Twitter and other blogs, but the Android team has been sure to stress that Donut is still very much a work in progress. Even the person who posted the video made no mention of that codename, so don’t think this is what you’ll get during the next couple of firmware updates. Heck, we’re still waiting on that other bakery product, aren’t we?
This is either a custom version of Cupcake designed by HTC or modding by some very talented phone junkies. Be amazed but don’t expect much else until further notice.

Looks like an Android version of TouchFlo to me.
Looks awesome… but Haykuro is not able to release… for legal reasons.. but I am running cupcake… can’t wait for “someone” to release the hero ROM … and of cource this one… time will tell
Looks great!
Well reported, most other Android 'news' sources that I follow don't seem to read any of the links they are reporting on.
I would like to ask a question…why is that the modded roms that both JF and Haykuro (and maybe others) release dont include multitouch. On all levels. Sure a couple of apps have it (like the browser and maps) but why dont they work it in? Even if Apple is stopping Google from including this in android there should be nothing stoppiing these guys from including it in. http://jjutol.blogspot.com/
