We have more talk of Android devices that are ‘coming’ with few actual details being announced. Anyway, according to a recent DigiTimes report, a Taiwan based company called Tatung is currently planning a line of Android based smartphones.
Unfortunately, like some of the other reports coming from DigiTimes, this one also comes with little information. What they have stated so far is that Tatung plans to make them available through Tatung InfoComm, but as of now they have yet to finalize their “product roadmap.”
In other words, we are unsure if we will ever see these become available. In all honestly, I do not find it all that surprising that a company in Taiwan is working on Android smartphones, but we shall see what happens. Also, in addition to smartphones, Tatung also has a line of UMPC’s, but there was not any mention of those running Android.
