SweeterHome theme video shows Watchmen, apps power

SweeterHome is getting stronger by the day. Yes, I literally mean by the day. The developer is constantly working to improve the home screen replacement app, fixing bugs and adding useful features that set it apart from similar apps. It is very much a work in progress, and that progress is moving along nicely.
SweeterHome has greatly improved since Androinica reviewed an earlier version last month. The addition of Springboards and better functions have made customization of the Android home reach much deeper levels. Below are screenshots and a video showcasing two SweeterHome themes that I have developed for my personal use – Watchmen and KawsOneder.

Andrew, nice review. Sweeter Home is getting more compelling every time I see it….
Okay, I must say, my first experience with Sweeter Home was not that great. It seemed kind of clunky and just hard to navigate and not very user friendly. This custom theme update and the spring board option is really getting me thinking about re-installing it and giving it another go. My question is, how much photoshop did you need to do to get the smiley image isolated for the spring board, and so on? In other words, exactly how user friendly is it now?
If you have access to transparent images (.png files have the best quality) you don’t even need photoshop. The Smiley face was actually already transparent since I got it in an icon pack.
SweeterHome is time-consuming because of the set-up. It took me a couple of hours to get the Watchmen theme the way I wanted, but making the Kaws theme was easier because I had gotten use to it.
CAn anyone make a Carolina Panther one?

this app truly seems to be getting better than the other home replacement apps for Android, I might give it a try.
How did you get the date to show in the notification bar on the top?
How do you make an image from your phone into the springboard icon? thanks
Create a springboard and set it to layer 9. Then add an image on Layer 10 and it should cover it up.
thanks so much, and also, how do you set the background of the springboard or action tray as transparent? mine is the tonic water one I think, and I dont know how to change it. And one more question, do you know how to make the icon for the springboard into just text?

No problem.
Background Transparent
1. Press Menu, select “Edit” then click on the springboard you created
2. Press “Edit” again and select then “Configure” button next to “Shape”
3. Press “Configure” on gradient and then for both colors, move the “Alpha” selector all the way to the left.
Icon only springboards
1. Press Menu, select “Edit” then press on the springboard you created
2. Press “Edit” again and press on “Configure” next to “iconStyle”
3. Scroll down to “IconMode” and select “Text”
That should do it for both issues.

my final question is- if you want to make an action tray for a spring board, and the action tray just says “games” and when you tap it, a spring board for games show up, how do you change the settings for the icon of the first action tray to just say games? is it possible? thanks
You mean to just say the word “Games”? You would follow the steps in my last post that say “Icon only springboards” When you change the iconmode to “Text” the springboard image will no longer appear.

In your Watchman theme i see that every page has a different background.
I can't get that on mine sweeter home because when i ad a background it fills it al up.
Can you maybe explain that to me

It sounds like you've set the layer too high. I'm assuming you already know how to add an image from the device, but if not, here's a full list of what to do.
1. In the edit mode, add a new Image.
2. Then select the image and press Menu > edit
3. Click on "Configure"
4. Select "Device" instead of Wallpaper
5. Under localImage, press "Choose Image" and pick your photo as a new background
6. Press Close It
7. Where it says "Layer" decrease the number to something below everything else on the screen. I usually set it to 1 or 2.
8. Close and then move the Image to cover the complete screen. When you exit edit mode, it should no longer cover everything.

Isn't there somekind of tutorial on the web that explains sweeter home.
Some things are tricky but with some puzzeling i mange to get it the way i want.
But if there is a tutorial out there it would be nice man.

I’m new to the sweeterhome but I’ve been playing around with it 4 sometime now n got to a point that I made it look ok but not the way I want it to be.
My question is to you, I went to sweeterhomeskins.blogspot.com right just to get a new theme and a background that can help me out. But when I went to click download from my phone, its telling me that it can’t be download to the phone. I also think it said that I need a psd file or something like that.
How do I get that on my phone so I can download the themes that are offer from them?thank you

hey andrew, can you show me how to get the spring board’s transition animation? like at the last theme on the video where you clicked on the house icon, the picture popped out from the icon and move out and expand bigger onto the screen. I’ve been playing with it but can’t get it to work. mine just pooped out instantly at the grid I placed it at.
