It was just recently that we saw the announcement from T-Mobile USA and how they have reached the 1 million mark with the G1, and now it looks like T-Mobile UK has some good news — they are closing in on the 100,000 mark. According to Richard Warmsley, Head of Internet and Entertainment, T-Mobile;
“Sales of the T-Mobile G1 have exceeded our expectations – we are very excited to hit the milestone of 100,000 units sold in just over six months.”
All things considered, 100,000 in six months is a pretty impressive number. Of course, I would imagine that will only grow, possibly even quicker now that Cupcake has begun to roll-out. Also, as you would imagine, it would appear that T-Mobile UK is excited about Android in general and plan to ride that success for a while.
“We’re looking forward to launching another groundbreaking phone on Android later this year.”
