Not really wanting to argue the legal aspects that come with downloading torrent files of commercial DVD’s, however a new Android app called Torrent Droid has some pretty interesting features.
The app allows the user to scan a UPC bar code of a DVD, from there the app will then search and locate a torrent file (on such sites as Mininova or The Pirate Bay). After a torrent has been found, you will then have the option to send it to your PC. Torrent Droid even gives you the option to “open uTorrent Mini Web Gui” and begin the download, that way the file will be at home waiting for you.
According to the developer;
“This version of Torrent Droid is a work in progress but the video shows the core features work,”
Given that, Torrent Droid is not yet available for download, however a full consumer version is expected to be released within a month. In the meantime check out the video below of Torrent Droid in action.
