Google has recently dedicated a team in Taiwan to “look after” and further develop Android. According to Google, this new team was placed in Taiwan due to the “close proximity to the world’s largest PC and smartphone contract manufacturers,” or as we would like to think of it — close to HTC. Of course that also puts them close to other companies such as Asus and Acer.
Just with those three companies alone we could potentially have a whole slew of exciting product announcements coming in the future. Of course, just because this new development team is in Taiwan, that does not mean they are limited to any certain companies. They could also look to work on a more regional basis which would open up other areas such as Japan and China. Personally I am hoping to see Asus and Google team up for an Android based Eee PC.
