Google has joined the likes of Apple, AT&T, Skype and LG and have settled their visual voicemail patent lawsuit with Klausner Technologies. According to Judah Klausner, the owner of the patent;
“Google has a license to Klausner’s visual voicemail patents,”
Of course, in the case of Android, Google has also licensed that out to other companies including T-Mobile and more recently Vodafone. Klausner did not mention to what extent that the Google agreement covered those other companies.
In the case of Google, the lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice, which means that neither party can bring the other to court in the future. As far as what Google had to pay up to settle this suit, well, Klausner has not revealed the terms, leaving it with a simple statement saying that Google can now use the technology.
