Easily tether and share your G1′s internet connectivity with PdaNet
March 19, 2009 | by Robert Nelson
Android, Android Apps, Android Phones
A newly released app for the G1 will allow you to quickly and easily share your phones Internet connection with your laptop. The app, PdaNet is currently available however it is still in beta (version 1.12). As of now PdaNet is able to be downloaded and used for free, however once out of beta it will become a paid app.
Setup is quick and easy, just download the app on your computer, then follow the instructions for setup. That process will automatically install PdaNet on your G1. Once the setup and installation is complete, a quick click of the PdaNet icon will have you sharing your connection.
Although I have not used PdaNet on Android, I can say that it is a great app as they have been around for a while for other mobile device such as those running PalmOS or Windows Mobile as well as the BlackBerry and the iPhone.

Uh, who cares?
I happened to stumble upon this release by myself (thanks to some dumb luck on my part), but that said Michael does have a great site that is worth checking out.

It is well worth mentioning that this only works if your laptop is running a Microsoft Windows operating system.
My Thinkpad runs Linux so no Money for the Dev June Fabrics.
This saves me 60 bucks a month on an air card AND you can talk on the phone at the same time you are using your laptop. My friend has a blackberry tethered but it suspends data use when you are on the phone
I can't download this on my Motorola Droid which has Android 2.1 operating system
please help
thanks

Droid is 2.0.1, not 2.1
Droid has been upgraded to 2.1. If you are unable to see this app, it could be that Verizon has decided to block it. You can either visit pdanet and purchase it through PayPal or just use Verizon's tethering service.
