Samsung seems to not want to be left out of the recent Android announcements, and following right along, they have confirmed the release of more than three models coming in 2009. To begin with, we can be thankful that at least this news comes courtesy Reuters who spoke with the head of product strategy, Won-Pyo Hong. If nothing else we can feel better knowing that this information has come from more than a handwritten note. Of course, that does not mean they are going to spoil us and let us know any real details.
According to Hong, they will “start selling more than three phones using Google’s Android software by the end of the year.” As for market availability, it looks like “by the end of the year, we will be on both markets,” meaning in the US and Europe.
Once again, we can be hopeful, but are still trying to not get to excited until we get some more information. Lets just hope that 2009 will be a good year for Android and not the year we remember it beginning to crash and burn.
